Hace tiempo que no compartía noticias por aquí, pero mientras tanto una de mis fotografías fue seleccionada para una exposición colectiva en CDMX: “Todo Lo Que No Debió Ser Dicho: Cartografías de nuestras Memorias”. La exposición estará abierta hasta el 17 de abril y durante este mes también se realizarán varias actividades complementarias. Lamentablemente no podré viajar para verla en persona, pero me da mucha alegría que mi trabajo haya pasado la selección curatorial y forme parte de esta muestra.

In 2016, I had the most travel-filled year of my life.
Georgia, Croatia, Greece, Italy — even tiny places like the Vatican and San Marino. Everything was new, and some of these places I still haven’t returned to.

Back then, I shot only with two film cameras — a Lomo Lubitel and a Lomo L-CA. Looking at these photos now, I see how strangely (and sweetly) I photographed: in motion, on the go, without thinking too much. Missed focus, light leaks, accidents — all part of the process.

That same year, I realized I truly wanted to learn photography. I kept experimenting with film, but with time, a Leica entered my life — and my way of seeing slowly transformed.

Almost 10 years later, I shoot very differently. More technical, more conscious. I fell in love with digital and Fujifilm — but somewhere along the way, I lost that carefree “shooting from the hip” feeling.

But that’s a different story.
