Title: "The Quiet Storm Within: A Journey of Purpose and Persistence".
Today, I decided to capture the raw reality of being a young woman, often isolated in her room, with dark circles under her eyes reflecting the relentless will to chase her dreams. Unlike the usual selfies posted just to show I’m alive -something that has grown utterly futile for me - I’ve shifted my focus entirely. I no longer care to share empty glimpses of myself. I’ve grown into someone whose every waking moment is consumed by a newfound pursuit of fulfillment.
Endless days and nights of research, countless applications, and the constant struggle to break into a world dominated by men have become my reality. With each step, I fight to lay the foundation for my career - one I want more than anything.
I walk this path largely alone, supported by only a few who truly believe in me, while many dismiss my ideals as unrealistic. But isn’t it the idealists who shape the world and push the evolution of the human spirit? Those who dare to imagine what seems impossible are the ones who ultimately pave the way for progress. For me, nothing is unattainable if I’m willing to work for it.
From a tiny island, I’ve set my sights on navigating the vast, untamed horizons and forging a life at sea - where the world is as boundless as my ambitions. It’s a choice others may not understand, but it’s mine. And no matter how isolated or difficult the road, I will keep pursuing it.
Here, among my own people, there still exists an unconscious bias, where being seen as reliable and capable - especially as a woman - is a constant struggle. It's a challenge to break through these ingrained perceptions, but I remain determined to prove that my strength and potential are just as real as anyone else's.
Sometimes, I do wonder though if I’m being foolish - persisting in my pursuit of something I truly want, when I could easily follow the crowd and settle for anything. But deep down, I know that settling is never an option for me. I would rather struggle for something meaningful than live a life of quiet contentment in mediocrity. It's my internal conflict that I face every single day while emphasizing on my determination to follow my dreams.
Isn’t that the essence of photography since its inception? To document life as it is, capturing raw reality in all its forms?
As an idealist, I’ve often been told my dreams are unrealistic, but the truth is, my expectations are grounded in reality. I believe in the power of vision and hard work to bring even the most ambitious dreams to life.
This is my truth, and today, I choose to share it.
