Advanced Training on Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI): Beyond the Fixed-Base Assumption

1. Training Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

Understand the concept of Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI)
Compare fixed-base and SSI models
Explain inertial interaction, kinematic interaction, and foundation flexibility
Analyze the effects of SSI on structural performance
Evaluate soil properties under seismic loading
Apply SSI concepts using numerical modeling software
Interpret SSI effects on base shear, damping, and natural period.

Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand has offered Thailand Scholarship (Year 2024) for Myanmar nationals to pursue masters or doctoral degrees at the Thai higher education institutions. The application deadline is 15 March 2024.
