White-browed Fantail - බැම සුදු පවන්පෙන්දා/අවාන්-පෙඳ මැසිමාරා

Common breeding resident of dry lowlands while locally common in some wet zone areas up to mid hills. White-browed Fantail is a very active bird with restless dancing movements with fanned tail. It can be found in forests, open wooded areas and home gardens, usually as solitary birds or in pairs. It feeds on flying insects taking on the wing as all other 'flycatchers'. The breeding season lasts from January to August. Its nest is an open cup made out of fibers rootlets, etc., plastered with cobwebs and placed on a branch. Nest is often not concealed where it lays 2-3 eggs.

පහත රට වියලි කලාපයේ සුලභ දේශීය පක්ෂියෙකි. ඇතැම් තෙත් කලාපීය ප්‍රදේශ වල ස්ථානීය වශයෙන් සුලභව කඳුකරයේ මධ්‍යම උස් මට්ටම් දක්වාද හමුවේ. ඉතාමත් ක්‍රියාශීලී මෙම පක්ෂියා නොනැවතී සිය පෙඳය විහිදුවමින් නර්තන විලාශයෙන් හැසිරෙන ආකාරය නිරීක්ෂණය කල හැක. තනිව හෝ ජෝඩු වශයෙන් වනාන්තර, ගස් කොලන් සහිත විවෘත ස්ථාන වල මෙන්ම ගෙවතු වලද දැකිය හැකි බැම සුදු පවන්පෙන්දා ඉගිලෙමින් පියාඹන කෘමීන් ගොදුරු කරගන්නා පක්ෂියෙකි. ජනවාරි සිට අගෝස්තු දක්වා කාලයේ කුඩා මුල්, පරඬැල් ආදිය මකුළු දැල් වලින් අලවා අත්තක් මත විවෘත කෝප්පයක හැඩය සහිත කූඩුවක් තනා බිත්තර දෙකක් හෝ 3 ක් දමා අභිජනනයේ යෙදේ.
