As the sacred Vesak celebrations drew to a close, the Vidura College community gathered in an atmosphere of devotion and tranquility to participate in a heartfelt Bodhi Pooja Ceremony. Students, parents, teachers, and past pupils united in prayer, offering flowers and lighting lamps while reflecting upon the noble teachings of Lord Buddha.

The ceremony provided a meaningful opportunity to cultivate gratitude, compassion, and mindfulness, allowing participants to seek blessings for themselves, their families, and the entire Vidura College community. The serene surroundings, illuminated by the gentle glow of Vesak lights and lanterns, created a truly memorable spiritual experience.

The conclusion of the Vesak Programme marked the successful culmination of an evening filled with religious observances, Dhamma discussions, cultural appreciation, and community fellowship. The Vidura College Vesak Programme 2026 was a memorable evening that brought together students, parents, teachers, and well-wishers to celebrate the sacred Vesak season in an atmosphere of serenity, devotion, and unity.

Organized by the Vidura College Buddhist Brotherhood and the Past Pupils' Association, the programme commenced with a spiritually enriching Dhamma Sermon conducted by Venerable Borelle Sri Wansha Thero, providing valuable guidance on the teachings of Lord Buddha and the importance of applying them in our daily lives.

Participants enjoyed the beautifully illuminated Vesak lantern displays created by students from Grades 6 to 11, showcasing their creativity and devotion. The magnificent Vesak pandol designed and constructed by the Advanced Level Section of Vidura College stood as a remarkable highlight of the celebration, reflecting the dedication and teamwork of the students. Together with the various Vesak decorations displayed throughout the school premises, these creations transformed the campus into a vibrant and peaceful celebration of Buddhist culture and traditions.

This event served as a wonderful opportunity for the Vidura College community to come together, reflect on the values of compassion, kindness, generosity, and mindfulness, and share the blessings of Vesak with one another. It also commemorated the Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinibbana of Lord Buddha, reminding all present of the timeless teachings that continue to guide humanity.
