Golden Harmony – Where Wildlife Meets Sunset

වනජීවී ඡායාරූප වගේම හිරු බැසීමේ දර්ශනයේ ඡායාරූප ගන්නත් මම හරි ආසයි. වෙලාවක් එනවා කියන්නෙ මේ දෙකම එකම ඡායාරූපයකට ගන්න ඒ සතුට කියලා නිම කරන්න බැරි තරම්. ඉතින් මේ තියෙන්නෙ අද මට ලැබුනු එහෙම අවස්ථාවක ඡායාරූප දෙකක්.

Just like wildlife photography, I have a deep love for capturing sunsets. But there are rare moments when both come together in a single frame—and the feeling is simply indescribable.
Here’s a glimpse of one such special moment I experienced today.

ජීවිතේ ගැට ගහගන්නනෙ මේ ඔක්කොම / Just trying to make a living

කුඹුරු යායෙ ඉතුරු වෙලා තියෙන වී කරල් අතරේ,
ඉතා සුළු දේවල්වත් අත්හැර නොයමින් ජීවිතය ගැට ගහගන්න මේ සුන්දර කුරුල්ලන්…

කණ්ඩායම් වශයෙන් එක්වෙලා,
රෑන් රෑන් පියාසර කරමින්,
පරිසරයට එකතු කරන ලස්සන වචනෙන් කියන්න අමාරුයි…

ගොවි මහතුන්ට එතරම් ප්‍රිය නැති වුණත්,
අපට නම් මේ දසුන — ජීවිතයේ සරල සුන්දරත්වය මතක් කරවන එකක්.

Among the remaining grains in the paddy field,
these beautiful little birds gather what they can, holding on to life in the simplest way…

Moving in flocks,
flying back and forth in perfect harmony,
they create a scene that words can hardly capture…

Though not always loved by farmers,
to us, this moment reflects the pure beauty of simple living

අවසන් වෙලා යන දවසට ස්තූති කරමින්, හෙටට නව ආරම්භයක් බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමු

ලෝකය පුරා විවිධ කෑදැත්තන් වර්ග බොහොමයක් හමු වුවත්, ශ්‍රී ලංකා අළු කෑදැත්තා අපට විශේෂ වෙන්නේ මේ සුවිශේෂී සත්වයා ලංකාවටම ආවේනික වීම නිසයි.
දිගු හොටයත්, රතු පැහැති ඇස් වටයත් එක්ක මේ පක්ෂියා කාටත් හඳුනාගත හැකි ලස්සනක් දරනවා. වනයේ නිහතමානීව ජීවත් වෙමින් පරිසරයේ සමතුලිතතාවය රැක ගැනීමටත් මෙයාගේ දායකත්වය වැදගත්.

Among the many hornbill species found around the world, the Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill stands out to us because it is endemic to Sri Lanka.
With its long curved beak and striking red eye ring, this bird carries a unique beauty that’s instantly recognizable. Living quietly in the forests, it also plays an important role in maintaining the balance of nature.

හිමිදිරි උදෑසන / A peaceful early morning 🌿

උදේ පාන්දර මෙයාලත් එක්ක දවසේ වැඩ පටන් ගන්නව කියන්නේම දවසම සුන්දර වෙයි කියලා හිතෙනවා.
කොළ පාටින් පිරුණු මේ පරිසරයේ, මේ වගේ අහිංසක සත්තු එක්ක ජීවත් වෙන්න ලැබෙන එක ඇත්තටම වාසනාවක්.

Starting the day with these little companions makes the whole day feel beautiful.
Living among such innocent creatures in a lush green environment truly feels like a blessing.

අහසේ වර්ණ රටා එක්ක සන්සුන්ව අවසන් වෙන්න යන මේ මොහොත, හැමදාමත් අලුත්ම හැඟීමක් දෙනවා.

තඹල හිස බිගුහරයා / Chestnut-headed Bee-eater

හිසෙහි තඹ පැහැති වර්ණය නිසා මෙම නම ලැබී ඇති මොවුන්, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ දක්නට ලැබෙන බිගුහරයන් වර්ග හතරෙන් එකකි. අතිශය වේගයෙන් සහ නිවැරදිව දඩයම් කිරීමේ හැකියාවක් ඇති මේ සුන්දර කුරුල්ලන්, ස්වභාවධර්මයේ විශිෂ්ට ශිල්පයක් ලෙස දිස්වේ.

Named after its distinctive chestnut-colored head, the Chestnut-headed Bee-eater is one of the four bee-eater species found in Sri Lanka. Known for its incredible speed and precision while hunting, this beautiful bird is a true marvel of nature.
