The 41 Beach Club organised a fun filled sports weekend, yesterday, Saturday the 28th March 2026 and i had the opportunity and privilege to cover some of the action there.
There was Beach Touch Rugby well represented as always by the South Coast Pirates Rugby FaNs cheering on the South Coast Pirates club.
There was also beach soccer/football with notable teams from Soul Breeze Beach Resort and SambaSports Youth Agenda among others.
The event kicked off with skydivers gracing the show with their aerial prowess to mark the beginning of a spectacular day.

Nature can sometimes surprise you

I've been coming to this little temporary lake for a long time. By and by, it became a little sanctuary for me to quietly unwind and be in thoughts - to think about my thinking.
The peace that i gained here turned into a whole entire journey where i now began to wonder about the dramas that unfold around this lake from season to season. I began to notice some patterns and in those patterns, my Biology eye started to notice the flora and fauna around it.
Soon, i began to document it (yes, there's a bit of an amatuer-ish documentary am working on) in video and pictures and then started to link it to the other temporary lakes i knew about. That documentary will reveal a whole new world most of us have never known before.
In the last 2 weeks, there have been some rains, but not the grand deluges that fill it up until it runs over...no...just enough to cause a small shift...just tiny enough for the universe to reveal to me something small and beautiful - the Male Pin Tailed Whydah (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pin-tailed_whydah)

Sufficed to day the little fella has been putting on quite a show and on this day, he decided to stay still and give me a show for the camera....almost as if he knew what was going on!!

Yesterday was a tough match between the South Coast Pirates and the NYS Spades...Sufficed to say there was a lot of energy all through and each player did their best.

I went to watch and take some pictures of the Pirates Vs Spades (NYS) Rugby match and something rare happened - I was photographed... The shock! 😁😂 Photographers rarely have pictures of themselves... Am grateful to the fans who got these... Am still working on the game pictures, all 900 of them😁😁
