The Space Between.

Another bucket list shot checked off last night! I don’t know why it took me so long to take this one, but I’m glad I finally did. With Tokyo’s ever-changing skyline, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s only here for a limited time.

There is just something so magical about Onomichi. I’m scheduled for a return later this year, and I’m hoping to have some time to grab some more images of one of my favorite places in Japan.

Urban Illusion: Lines

I love walking around the city and trying to find scenes that look like they couldn’t possibly be real. Tokyo is full of places that can create such urban illusions.

Candid Moments with Nayeon.

Sometimes shooting portraits is more about finding the right pose; sometimes it’s about capturing a real moment. While out with Nayeon, I was able to capture a few such moments.

I sometimes get to take candid photos for work, so capturing authentic portraits is something I’m hoping to improve.

A Morning Stroll in Takayama.

It’s hard to beat a morning stroll through Takayama. Every time I visit, I make a point of getting up early and enjoying the peace and quiet of the usually bustling preserved area.

Geiko Performance.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend and photograph private Geiko dinners for work on a few occasions. It’s always fun to talk to and learn about these incredible women who dedicate their lives to becoming a living breathing form of art. They are also shockingly good at rhythm games and beat me every single time.

Some scenes from after sunrise at this year’s Hamaori Festival. I’m finally home after spending most of the last two months on the road, so hopefully I can get around to editing the rest of these… and catching up on all the other photos I’ve yet to edit.
