【Statement from the Italian gallerist:】
As a gallerist and curator, I am thrilled to present and curate the first Italian solo exhibition of the young Japanese underground artist Hideyoshi Kurosawa at AnnoZero2.0 this September.
In the months leading up to the opening, the most stimulating challenge will be to enter into a dialogue with his artistic language, understand its deep tensions, and build a curatorial path capable of enhancing its expressive power.
The exhibition, titled *Cicatrici* (Scars), promises to be an intense journey through the themes of memory, survival, and transformation—central elements in the research of an artist who has made his lived experience the very material of his creative practice.
Hideyoshi is an underground visual artist, music producer, and Techno DJ born in Tokyo, whose creative research has been forged through extreme and concrete life experiences. Guided by a rigorous and uncompromising "life or death" philosophy, he rejects any form of submission to power and violence, having navigated and overcome harsh situations in the deepest depths of the Japanese underground. For him, art and music are not simply expressive tools or decorative elements, but authentic forms of resistance and rebellion.
His visual works, characterized by a strong material charge and the use of traditional Washi paper, intertwine with powerful Techno sounds and tribal rhythms, giving life to immersive experiences that transform the space into an intense sensory territory.
Currently on a strong rise in the international scene, Hideyoshi is involved in an upcoming documentary produced in London and a major global project under negotiation with an international streaming platform. Through his work, he brings an authentic, unfiltered vision and the resilient spirit that characterizes the Tokyo underground to the world.
Grazie,
