Happy Halloween y'all's! It's been fantastic having the opportunity to learn about the Japanese way of celebrating this holiday and getting to share how we celebrate back in the US.
As I said in a previous post, here it can be very difficult to find the orange pumpkins we are used to in the US so at today's party I tried to replicate the feeling. I had them "choose" their pumpkins from the pumpkin patch (cut out a pumpkin shape) then draw and "carve" their pumpkins. This was nothing special but once we turned out the lights and "lit the candle", it was amazing to see how excited all the kids and parents were to see their Jack-o'-lanterns come to life! This may have been one of my favorite experience so far as a Labo intern. I hope everyone has a fantastic Halloween back in the states!
