Vi porto alla scoperta di un'antica scuola elementare risalente al 1902, situata sull'isola Shodoshima.
L'edificio, una struttura a un solo piano, fu costruito nell' 1902 come Scuola Primaria Ordinaria di Tanoura e comprendeva due aule e l'alloggio per l'insegnante.
La scuola fu scelta come ambientazione per l'adattamento cinematografico Ventiquattro occhi, prodotto dalla Shochiku nel 1954.
All'interno delle aule, i banchi, l'organo, i disegni dei bambini e altri elementi sono conservati intatti.
Sedetevi in un banco e chiudete gli occhi: lasciatevi trasportare dall'atmosfera di quei tempi passati.

You can find a new video on my YouTube channel (link in bio) in which I take you to explore an old elementary school dating back to 1902, located on Shodoshima Island.
The building—a single-story structure—was built in 1902 as the Tanoura Ordinary Primary School and originally housed two classrooms and the teacher's living quarters.
The school was chosen as the setting for the 1954 film adaptation of *Twenty-Four Eyes*, produced by Shochiku.
Inside the classrooms, the desks, the organ, the children's drawings, and other elements have been preserved intact.
Sit at a desk and close your eyes: let yourself be transported by the atmosphere of days gone by.

Nelle zone rurali periferiche del Giappone regna una calma quasi sospesa: stradine strette che si snodano tra le risaie, case di legno leggermente consumate dal tempo e un silenzio mai del tutto assente, ma pervaso da piccoli suoni: il vento, gli insetti, un treno in lontananza.

In rural outskirts of Japan, there’s an almost suspended calm: narrow roads winding through rice fields, wooden houses slightly worn by time, and a silence that is never empty, but filled with small sounds the wind, insects, a distant train.
