Yesterday I bought the Skylum Luminar Neo perpetual license for photo editing. I had stopped subscription basis software for a while, just didn’t make sense to spend on something that I don’t use regularly

I chose 10 random old photos of mine and played with the presets, ai and basic editing. It was fun and at the moment, it’s good enough for me

There are so much post editing now that I would say a photographer needs 50% framing and 50% editing. The pro is that photos look amazingly painting-like. The con is that you would almost always be disappointed when you see the real scenery compared to Instagram-photos

“All around Japan”

A little whining about my photography journey this year. I started my photo journal as a birder. Then I wanted less “pre-conceived”or “within expectation” pictures.

I was never good in technicality. Landscape, which requires much angled perception and editing is neither my forte nor favourite.

So I develop an interest in street photography. Humour, coincidence and meaningful. Then I started to realise that not all photos needed meaning. Take a photo as it is. It is just a photo. It can be a memory, it can be subjective, it can be a feeling at the moment. It is just a photo

And so I discarded all forms of category naming. Wildlife, landscape, street. Whatever. Just take and let the viewers feel it. Take whatever I want and feel
