When the morning promises fresh air and a crystal-clear sky, the views of the Venetian Prealps feel almost guaranteed.

These days, a breathtaking panorama unfolds, snow-dusted peaks sparkle in the sunlight, standing guard over Venice.

Once a natural defensive barrier, these mountains were part of an ancient guarding system. Today, they remain an unforgettable and unique territory, timeless, majestic, and quietly watching over the lagoon. ❄️🏔️✨

Today, while still observing with deep pain the disaster caused by Cyclone Harry and its aftermath in Sicily, Calabria, and Puglia, I am sharing a piece of Sicily in Venice.

The extraordinary painting by Antonello da Messina : Dead Christ Supported by Angels ca 1476 which can be admired in the Carlo Scarpa–designed setting at the 📍Museo Correr in Piazza San Marco.

Antonello da Messina (c. 1430–1479) was a major Italian Renaissance painter from Messina, Sicily. He is renowned for introducing and refining oil painting techniques in Italy, blending Northern European realism with Italian perspective and clarity. His work had a lasting influence on Venetian painting in the late 15th century. 🎨

At a moment when recent and severe events affecting these regions seem to receive little visibility, my thoughts are with the local communities who immediately came together with strength and solidarity.

I keep my fingers crossed for you, wishing the courage and passion for a new beginning that only you are capable of.

Over the next 24 hours, I will share in stories more reposts from Sicily dedicated to these events. This is the minimo I can do. After that, we will return to Venice content.

Moments from Ca'Rezzonico ✨️

This Venetian gem on the Grand Canal was
Built in the 17th century by the noble Bon family and completed in the 18th century by the Rezzonico, this grand palazzo now houses the Museum of 18th-century Venice.

Its magnificent rooms showcase the splendor, art and lifestyle of Venice’s golden age.
