Be honest, how many times have you rushed past the beautiful external portal of the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista in Venice?

Step inside and you'll discover far more than an impressive interior. Founded in 1261, this is the oldest of Venice's Scuole Grandi, a lay confraternity that combined charity, faith, and civic influence. Its growing prestige was fuelled by the arrival of a revered relic of the True Cross in 1369, attracting pilgrims, patrons, and, yes, a touch of medieval "marketing" too.

Here I'm sharing my favourite mystical shadows and one of the most elegant perspectives of Mauro Codussi's magnificent Renaissance staircase, commissioned in 1498. The scale of the spaces always surprises me, they feel far grander than you could ever imagine from outside.

Have you explored it yet? I highly recommend joining a guided tour or simply taking your time to read the stories behind the architecture and artworks. The building is still the home of the historic confraternity and preserves masterpieces spanning the Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque periods.

Emotions of spring explorations, thoughtful design, and a renewed sense of hospitality in the lagoon city.

I am very happy to share the publication of my article in Slovak language in Top Hospitality magazine, reaching the Slovak and Czech community of hospitality and tourism professionals.

The article, “A Spring Guide of the Lagoon City Blooming by Arts and Charme,” explores Venice in its most delicate season - a time when the lagoon city reveals its beauty through art, atmosphere, and hidden experiences.

Since moving to Venice, and after experiencing this truly special place, discovering its seasonal treats, hidden corners, and unique beauty, I have felt a strong wish to share both the simple and the lesser-known sides of Venice, creating space for meaningful and valuable experiences, as well as a contemporary design perspective.

I am grateful that new bridges are now being built towards the Central European audience, and I hope this article will inspire readers to discover Venice more slowly, with curiosity, respect, and a focus on quality time.

Knowledge as a living monument.

Inside the Renaissance spaces of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, Fondazione Bvlgari presents two contemporary interventions for Biennale Arte 2026: a dialogue between memory, language and transformation.

Monia Ben Hamouda’s Fragments of Fire Worship introduces luminous, fragmented forms of an impossible alphabet, while Lara Favaretto’s Momentary Monument – The Library transforms the Salone Sansoviniano into a temporary architecture of books, knowledge and exchange.

A historic library becomes a living space where the permanence of Venice meets the instability of contemporary thought.
