Places to visit in Sicily 🇮🇹

Sicily is so much more than beaches. From active volcanoes to medieval towns and hidden coves, it feels like several destinations packed into one island.

Which of these would make it straight onto your itinerary? 🇮🇹👇

Syracuse
A city where ancient Greek history meets the Mediterranean. The island of Ortigia is packed with beautiful streets, sea views, and some of Sicily’s best sunsets.

Mount Etna
Europe’s highest active volcano. You can walk across lava fields, explore craters, and witness a landscape that is constantly being reshaped.

Taormina
Perched above the sea, with stunning views of Etna and a Greek theatre that might just have one of the best backdrops in the world.

Cefalù
A postcard-perfect seaside town with a beautiful old centre, a long sandy beach, and a massive rock overlooking it all.

Monte Cofano
One of Sicily’s most underrated coastal hikes. Rugged cliffs, turquoise water, and a wild side of the island that feels untouched.

Scopello
A small village famous for its historic tuna fishery and dramatic sea stacks. One of the most photogenic corners of Sicily.

Save this for your Sicily trip. 📍

Places to visit in Crete, Greece 🇬🇷

Crete is the kind of island that keeps changing every few hours. One moment you’re driving through dry mountains, the next you’re swimming in water that barely looks real. Save this for your next Greece trip. 🇬🇷

Seitan Limania, a tiny beach ruled by goats 🐐 squeezed between steep cliffs, famous for its unreal turquoise water and dramatic approach.

Preveli Beach, one of the most unique spots on the island, where a palm forest and river meet the sea.

Chania with its venetian architecture, small alleyways, harbor sunsets, and some of the best food you’ll find in Crete.

Vouliolimni is an hidden natural pool with crystal-clear water, surrounded by rugged rock formations.

Spinalonga, a small fortified island with a fascinating history, once used as a Venetian stronghold and later a l***r colony.

Loutro, a whitewashed seaside village with no cars, only boats and mountain trails connecting it to the outside world.

Puglia, Italy… 4 places to visit 🇮🇹

Polignano a Mare, built right on the edge of limestone cliffs, with balconies hanging above the Adriatic and hidden coves below. One of those towns that somehow looks even better in person.

Alberobello, famous for its trulli houses, the white stone homes with cone-shaped roofs that make the whole town feel almost unreal. A UNESCO site and easily one of the most unique places in Italy.

Monopoli, small fishing boats, quiet alleys, sea walls, beautiful beaches and a slower rhythm than nearby hotspots. Feels more lived-in and local while still incredibly photogenic.

Bari, chaotic in the best way. In the old town you’ll still find locals making orecchiette pasta by hand outside their homes while scooters squeeze through the narrow streets.

🥾 5 hiking trails in Porto Santo, Madeira.

Pico Branco
One of the island’s best hikes, with volcanic formations, sea views, and a surprisingly green landscape.

Pico do Castelo
Short but rewarding climb with panoramic views over the island and coastline.

Red Valley is even more beautiful than Vinicunca… prove me wrong ❤️🏔️

The Rainbow Mountain may be Peru’s most famous hike, but the landscapes around it are just as mind blowing. Endless red valleys, colorful mineral layers, and dramatic Andean peaks that look straight out of another planet 🌈⛰️

If you’re planning to visit, my biggest tip is to choose an early departure from Cusco to reach the mountain before the crowds. Most tours leave around 6am, but earlier tours completely change the experience.
The hike starts at around 4,700m and reaches over 5,000m, so acclimatizing in Cusco beforehand is essential.

And trust me… don’t skip Red Valley.

Cabo Verde… the aftermath of something ancient.

Around Vulcão Viana, in São Vicente, the land is stripped down to texture, shadow, and layers of ochre stretching in every direction. No dense vegetation, no distractions, just raw volcanic terrain shaped by forces that must have looked violent and spectacular at the time.

From above, you can still read the island’s history in the ground itself. Ridges, craters, and dry flows frozen in place, as if the earth simply stopped moving one day and never fully settled again.

Sardinia… share with your travel buddy!

Base yourself around Orosei or Cala Gonone to explore the Gulf of Orosei by boat, it’s the best way to reach places like Cala Luna and Cala Goloritzé.

For the north, stay near Olbia, Palau, or La Maddalena and spend a day boating through the La Maddalena Archipelago.

Cagliari is worth slowing down for too, especially around Castello and Poetto after a few days chasing beaches.

And don’t just rush between spots. Hike, take the coastal roads slowly, and stop at local places for seafood pasta, culurgiones, and mirto at the end of the day.

A place in Sardinia called...

Cala Goloritzé, famous for its sharp limestone pinnacle and insanely clear water, it’s one of the most protected and photographed spots in the Gulf of Orosei. Boats can’t get directly onto the beach, which helps keep it feeling untouched.
Getting there takes effort, either by hike or by swimming from nearby boat moorings, but that’s part of what makes it special.
