Want that elusive with your digital camera?

Easy.

Use an old manual focus lens...take your time and avoid autofocus.
Push up your iso, this will give you some grain like effect
Use a slow shutter speed...make the photo move a little.
Lastly, and most Importantly, bring out a little bit of the actor in your subjects..tell them a story, give them something to think about so you can capture their expressions
