Think of Naples and you probably think of the most famous food in the world: pizza. 🍕
But Giuseppe has taken that passion a step further.
Hidden away in the Spanish Quarter of Naples, he creates clocks from real pizzas.
Using strong glue, patience and a special protective coating, Giuseppe carefully preserves each ingredient, transforming a simple pizza into a unique piece of art. At first glance they look good enough to eat. Look closer and you’ll discover they are actually keeping time.
Giuseppe lives in the Quartieri Spagnoli, a neighbourhood once known for its difficulties but today loved by visitors . He sells the clocks to tourists to cover the cost of renting his one bedroom “basso”. Like so many people we meet through Souls of Italy, he has found a way to turn everyday life, creativity and local tradition into something entirely his own.
