🇮🇹 L'upupa è sicuramente uno degli uccelli più appariscenti tra quelli diffusi nell'area euro-mediterranea: la colorazione molto accesa, rosso-arancio con ali e coda a bande bianche e nere, il lungo becco leggermente ricurvo e la cresta erettile sulla testa risultano inconfondibili fra gli altri uccelli che abitano questa latitudine, sebbene risulti abbastanza difficile avvistare un'upupa in virtù delle sue abitudini schive e della sua predilezione per le aree rurali e scarsamente antropizzate.

Identificazione: Sono piante erbacee perenni che fioriscono all'inizio della primavera, spesso appena la neve si scioglie.
Caratteristiche: I fiori hanno una caratteristica forma a calice e un colore che varia dal viola al malva, con stami gialli al centro.
Habitat: Crescono spontaneamente in prati e pascoli, formando spesso densi tappeti colorati.
Nota bene: Sebbene simili, non vanno confusi con il Crocus sativus, da cui si ricava lo zafferano commestibile, che invece fiorisce in autunno.

🇮🇹 Nel folclore europeo, lo scricciolo è considerato essere il “re degli uccelli”.
La favola, presumibilmente celtica, vuole che molto tempo fa gli uccelli stessero facendo una gara per vedere chi sapeva volare più in alto. Il vincitore sarebbe stato il re degli uccelli. Lo scricciolo partì per primo, ma ben presto si stancò e l'aquila lo raggiunse. Lo scricciolo, molto furbescamente, si appoggiò sul dorso dell'aquila e si fece trasportare ancora più in alto. A quel punto scattò verso il cielo e vinse.
