🙏 Something I've been reflecting on lately...

Sicily changed me. I thought they were being dramatic. 🍋🌋

I booked an Airbnb in Giardini Naxos because the photos looked cute and the price was right. What I didn’t expect was a dark, depressing apartment that almost made me cancel everything.

Instead, I went up to Taormina. And that changed everything.

The Greek Theatre built in 300 BC with Etna on the horizon. Isola Bella’s water so turquoise it feels fake. Squid ink pasta at a place with no English menu and a line out the door. Granita with brioche for breakfast …a superior way to start any morning, and I will die on this hill.

Oh, and the beach vendors? Do NOT make eye contact. Do not say “no thank you.” Do not let them put a bracelet on your wrist. You’ve been warned. 🚫

The apartment stayed dark. I stopped caring. Sicily gave me everything else.

You arrive a tourist. You leave a little bit Sicilian. 🇮🇹☀️
