⚡️ Senior politician urges public support for negotiators and national unity
📌 Tehran, IRNA – A senior member of the Expediency Council has called on the public and political factions to support the country’s negotiating team, emphasizing unity across military, civic, and diplomatic arenas.
In a message released on Tuesday, Mohammad Reza Bahonar stressed the need for trust in Iran’s negotiators, urging “all political currents, the patient, understanding and insightful Iranian nation, while trusting the negotiators, to support their children in the field and diplomacy by presence in the streets.”
He cited remarks by the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, saying that “God has appointed this nation for resistance and safeguarding the Islamic Republic,” adding that the combined efforts of battlefield bravery, public steadfastness, and diplomatic perseverance have forced the enemies to retreat from their declared objectives.
Bahonar highlighted the role of the armed forces and public rallies during the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, stating these efforts are now reflected in diplomacy with “a garment of dignity and expediency.”
He praised Iran’s top negotiator Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, saying he defends national achievements “with zeal” in his role leading the negotiating team, adding that he has “placed his life and reputation on the line for the dignity and greatness of Iran.”
Bahonar also stressed unity under the new Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, saying all pillars of the system and the Iranian people stand as “one hand” and will persist until securing the country’s rights and avenging their martyred Leader.
The United States and Israel launched a war of aggression against Iran on February 28, assassinating Ayatollah Khamenei and several top military commanders.
On April 8, after 40 days of war, Iran and the US reached a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan, followed by negotiations to permanently end the war.
