Back when I quit my job to go full-time freelancing, I had no idea where content creation would take me. Taking up my very first professional travel project here felt like a leap of faith—and Udaipur gave me back so much more than I ever expected. Some experiences in Banaras don’t need an itinerary, just a boat and time. 🥹

Taking a boat from Assi Ghat and slowly sailing past one ghat after another while the boatman narrates stories, mythology, and hidden facts about each one… is a feeling I can’t quite put into words. 🛶✨

Somehow, Banaras feels even more magical when witnessed from the water. 🤍🌅

If there’s one thing Banaras taught me, it’s this: don’t just visit the city, experience it. 🥹✨

Here are 3 things you absolutely must do in Banaras:

🪔 Explore the ghats — Every ghat has a story, mythology, and centuries of history attached to it. Walk them slowly and let the city unfold itself. 🌅🌊

🍅 Eat your way through Banaras — Especially the chaats! From Tamatar Chaat 🍅 to Palak Chaat 🥬, Dahi Puri 🥣, and Kachori Sabzi 🥟, there’s a new flavor waiting at every corner. 😋✨

👗 Dress ethnic for a day — Trust me, exploring Banaras in traditional attire is a vibe in itself. The lanes, temples, and ghats somehow make it feel even more special. 🤍🪔

Day 4 for us was all about seeking blessings ✨

🛕 Birla Mandir Darshan
🌊 And ending the day with a peaceful boat ride while watching the ghats come alive at sunset. 🥹🧡

Day 3 in Banaras was all about slowing down and letting the city happen to us. 🥹🌅

A few takeaways from our stay:

📍 Spend at least half your trip around Dashashwamedh Ghat — it truly feels like the heart of the city.

🎒 Looking for hostels?
✨ Wander Station is a great pick near the old city.
✨ If you prefer staying around Assi Ghat, Lifti Hostel has an amazing vibe too.

🍕 Don’t miss Pizzeria Vaatika for good food with one of the best views in town.

🥤 And for the adventurous souls… let’s just say Banaras has a certain green lassi that comes with a wink 😉💚

A slow day, a happy day, and the perfect way to wrap up our Banaras chapter. 🫶

Wondering how much of Banaras you can actually explore in a day? Quite a lot, apparently. 🥹✨

This was Day 2 of trying to understand a city that never seems to stop surprising you.

🌅 4:30 AM — Started the day by queuing up for the divine darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple 🛕🤍

🎨 Post darshan, we got lost (in the best way possible) exploring the colorful lanes around Dashashwamedh Ghat 🌈🚶‍♀️
And honestly, every turn felt prettier than the last.

🥟 Breakfast stop? A hearty meal at Ram Bhandar because no Banaras itinerary is complete without indulging in local favorites 🍽️✨

☸️ Phase 2 of the day took us to Sarnath — around 40 minutes from our hostel, Wander Station 🚖🌿
A place that felt calmer, slower, and deeply rooted in history.

🌅 And what better way to end the day than by watching the sunset at Namo Ghat? 🌊🧡

One city.
Three completely different vibes.
And somehow, Banaras keeps making you want to stay a little longer. 🥹✨
