At first, feels like pure chaos: the sounds, the crowds, the movement everywhere. But look closer and you’ll find the calm hiding in its historic architecture: silent courtyards, carved balconies, and walls that have watched centuries pass…

Colors of - where the Arabian Sea meets cliffs, and every corner feels alive with color.
From sun-washed beaches and busy streets to palm trees dancing in the breeze. Black-and-yellow tuktuks weaving through town, wandering dogs, curious squirrels, banana leaves catching the light. And people filling the shore with even more colors, stories, laughter, movement.

We spent the first week of our India trip here. A gentle landing to shake off the jetlag, settle into the rhythm, and ease into a little workation. A soft beginning before heading north to the mountains.
Thank you Varkala for the great start ❤️

Finally had some time to sit down and play around with Adobe Firefly: I uploaded a few of my own photos and asked it to turn them into moving images. The result? Honestly… kind of mind-blowing 🤯
Watching something I shot come to life in a whole new way feels kinda surreal. It’s like the lines between photography, design, and animation are getting blurrier by the day, in the best possible way.
That said… I still have a complicated relationship with AI 😅 I work with it almost daily, and I can’t deny how powerful and inspiring these tools are, especially for creatives. But at the same time, I’m constantly questioning where it’s all headed, how much is too much, and what it really means for originality and human creativity.
For now, I’m choosing to explore with curiosity, caution, and a bit of wonder.
What about you? How are you feeling about all these AI tools showing up in creative spaces? Are you excited, skeptical or somewhere in between?

I’m pleased to share that Creative Boom has featured my latest photo series Abandoned Australia in their article “Beyond the Beaches: Helin Bereket captures the solitude of Australia’s forgotten towns.”

What began as a trip to document silo art turned into something unexpected. Along the way, I encountered towns marked by silence and resilience. Empty motels, closed pubs, and places slowly giving way to time.

This series is about more than decay; it’s about presence, memory, and the traces communities leave behind.

Thanks to Nikon for supporting this journey and to Creative Boom for giving a platform to stories that lie beyond the postcards.

🎉 After months of planning, it’s finally happening!

I’ve created a concept for a group exhibition for the art festival 48 Stunden Neukölln, and invited 11 fellow Berlin based photographers to take part.

The exhibition “Distorted Truths” explores how the line between truth and illusion can blur, even without digital manipulation. Through carefully staged scenes, subtle atmospheres, and compositional detail, the 12 participating photographers invite viewers to reflect on the layers of meaning often hidden beneath the surface.
Each photographer interprets the theme in their own visual language, challenging how we perceive reality in an age shaped by digital influence.

It’s so refreshing to finally realize a non-commercial, community-first project again, and it’s been a joy to collaborate on something purely for the love of photography 🙂

Hope to see many of you at the opening!

I made a short stop at Port Willunga during my road trip in Victoria & South Australia. The blend of rugged cliffs, glistening waters, and the timeless rhythm of the ocean created a perfect backdrop for a peaceful pause. I watched as people soaked up the warm afternoon sun, kids splashing in the turquoise water, and beachgoers strolling along the sand.
There’s something effortlessly chill about the Aussie way of life. Everyone seemed fully present, content to just be — and honestly, it’s contagious. 🙂

What comes to your mind when you think of ? Probably white beaches, surfers, and maybe kangaroos or spiders? 🏖️🏄‍♂️ 🦘🕷️ This was exactly what I was thinking of before coming to this country. But choosing a different route than most of the tourists surprised me and showed me a completely different face of Australia.

Australia has a population of around 26 million people and a land area of about 7.68 million km² (To compare: Europe has 750 million people living on 10.18 million km²). Which means the population density in Australia is about 3.4 people per km², making it one of the least densely populated countries in the world. Most of the population is concentrated in coastal cities, with vast areas of the interior being empty. And you feel this emptiness everywhere when you travel inland in Victoria & South Australia. These areas are quiet—streets are empty, many buildings are abandoned, giving you ghost town vibes, as if you’re stepping into a place frozen in time. It’s a feeling that’s hard to describe but unforgettable.

This set is from the first part of my trip, focusing on inland Victoria. In case you wanna see some more impressions, check out the story highlights “Australia” and “Australia 2” on my profile ☺️
