Aadi Vedan (or Karkidaka Vedan) is a ritualistic folk art form from North Malabar, Kerala, performed by children during the monsoon month of Karkidakam (July-August) to ward off diseases and bring prosperity. Representing Lord Shiva and Parvati in hunter/tribal forms, they visit houses, dancing to the beats of a drum to cleanse homes of negative energy.

Exploring the architectural marvel of Gangai Konda Cholapuram. Built by Rajendra Chola I, this temple remains one of the most stunning examples of Dravidian artistry. Seeing it come alive with the movement of traditional attire is a photographer’s dream.

The Fire of the Divine
In the stillness of the night, the earth of Kannur awakens. Witnessing Karimgulikan Theyyam is more than seeing a ritual; it’s feeling a presence. The warmth of the pantham (torches) and the deep devotion of the seeker create a moment where the human and the divine merge.
Captured this soul-stirring embrace during the peak of the performance.
