Day before yesterday , a young British tourist lands up at my cafe in Goa brandishing an Olympus μ 1 film camera , the point and shoot types. We got chatting and I remembered I had one too from over 35 years ago . I hadn’t used it in an eternity , and told her she can have it if I found it . Found it , I did and she came by today to collect it and could’nt believe her luck when I gave it to her for no charge . She says no one even smiles for free and I say your ancestors took our smiles for granted and plundered us and yours truly hasn’t learnt his lesson too .
We shared a few laughs and life goes on , well Olympus sure made her day , it’s always made mine for an eternity now . I have my grandfather’s OM-1 for over 50 plus years and now i have an all digital OM-1 . Just another reason to love Olympus cameras .
