Imam Khamenei:
- There are some rioters today who seek to please the American president by damaging public property. To these people I say: your hopes are pinned on a man who cannot even manage his own country. If he is as capable as he claims, let him focus on the incidents and problems occurring within his own borders!
- There are those whose work is purely destruction. Last night in Tehran and elsewhere, a bunch of vandals destroyed buildings belonging to their own nation. They did this simply because that man—speaking irrelevant nonsense—promised he would 'take their side.' Our nation has no tolerance for such mercenarism. Whoever you are, once you work for a foreigner, this nation rejects you.
- This is a man whose hands are stained with the blood of more than a thousand Iranians. In the Twelve-Day War, over a thousand of our compatriots—ordinary people, scientists, and dignitaries alike—were martyred. He himself confessed, 'I gave the order; I commanded during the war.' How can he now claim to be a supporter of the Iranian nation? Only the inattentive and unthinking would believe such a lie.
- Everyone must understand: the Islamic Republic was built on the blood of hundreds of thousands of noble souls. We will not back down in the face of destroyers. As for that fellow who sits there in arrogance, passing judgment on the world, he should remember history. The despots of the past—Pharaoh, Ni**od, and the Pahlavis—were all overthrown at the very peak of their pride. He, too, will be overthrown."
