Captured this tiny sunbird using the 200MP periscope telephoto lens. The level of detail in the feathers is actually insane. Who needs a heavy setup when you have a 1-inch sensor in your pocket?

🍄 Deep Dive into the Fungal Kingdom! 🌙

Night explorations with my friend, the mycologist Dr Pandurang Bagam , in the heart of Kolhapur district, Manoli Village resides in laps of nature! 🔦 We're on a quest to uncover the fascinating, hidden world of fungi, and tonight's find was a beauty—a stunning specimen of Hymenopellis spp., commonly known as the Deep Root Mushroom! 😍

This widespread agaric is easily identified by a few key features:
1.The Deeply Rooted Stalk:The most distinguishing feature is its long taproot (or stipe), which is typically buried deep in the substrate.
2. Habitat:We often find them growing on the dead wood of hardwood trees (like beech, though they grow on others too), either alone or in clusters.
3. The Cap:While this low-angle shot shows the gills, the caps are typically bell-shaped and range from yellow-brown to dark brown, flattening out as they mature. Pro Tip: They are also notably slippery when wet!

We captured this unique, low-angle shot to focus on its beautiful, pinkish, radially arranged gills. It's moments like these, under the forest canopy, that remind us of the immense biodiversity right beneath our feet. A huge shoutout to my friend for his incredible knowledge and passion.
