✨ Murot Tel Diya Ceremony ✨

The Murot Tel Diya Ceremony is a beautiful Assamese pre-wedding ritual in which oil is gently applied to the hair of both the bride and groom. This act symbolizes purity, blessings, and new beginnings. Traditionally performed by women, the ceremony reflects the essence of Assamese customs, particularly “Jurun” and “Choklong,” and is inspired by the Hindu practice known as “Maah Halodhi Diya.”

We were honoured to attend the Birangana Mula Gabharu Awards, an event dedicated to celebrating bravery and excellence.

The night was truly memorable as we recognised strength, culture, and talent alongside Chitra Ranjan Dutta. We were also fortunate to enjoy a mesmerising performance by the incredible Subasana Dutta, one of Assam’s finest female vocalists.
