Spotted this Asian Pied Starling having lunch right on the shoreline. Seeing one foraging on the coast is a rare treat (shoutout to Nagare Sir for pointing out just how unusual this "shore-lunch" really is!).

Proof that in birding, you should always expect the unexpected. Sometimes the "common" birds decide to break the rules. 📸✨

The "Great Horned" of India. 🦉🔥

Meeting an Indian Eagle-Owl at Kadabanwadi is a lesson in stillness. Those iconic orange eyes aren't just for show—they are evolved for low-light precision, and those "ear" tufts (which are actually just feathers called plumicorns) help break up their silhouette against the rocks.

When this bird looks at you, you realize you aren't the one doing the watching. You're being watched. 👁️🏜️

I will follow you till the dark...

The Chinkara blends so perfectly into the landscape that you often don't see them until they move. They are shy, swift, and incredibly graceful. Watching them navigate the heat and the dust with such ease makes you realize how perfectly nature designs its inhabitants.

Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse from Kadbanwadi grasslands.

While they both share that signature chestnut belly, their "outfits" tell a different story:

The Female (Pic 1): She’s covered in intricate dark streaks and bars, making her almost invisible against the dry Kadabanwadi grass while she sits on the nest.

The Male (Pic 2): Dressed in sleek, sandy-orange tones with a sharp black "necklace" across his chest. They soak up water at distant waterholes and fly it back (sometimes miles away!) to their thirsty chicks.

Nature’s design is never accidental. One is for show and utility; the other is for survival and stealth. ✨

Next stop: Chembur cha Morya 🙏✨
This beautiful murti is surrounded by Riddhi and Siddhi — the divine consorts of Lord Ganesha.

✨ Riddhi represents prosperity, growth, and success in the external/material world — achievements, career, wealth, and progress.
✨ Siddhi represents wisdom, inner peace, spiritual growth, and success in the inner world — self-realization and balance.

Together they remind us that true success is not just what we achieve outside, but also what we become inside 🌼💛
