While indulging in Photography way back in 2009 I didn’t think that it’s going to pinch my pocket & would be time inducing, but you know what, I am loving every bit of it! Journey from theory to practical :
There was a day in my life where I was fascinated with the entry level DSLR camera, especially Canon 1000D. And as most of us consume more time at work & end up putting those heavy hours on co
mmuting, I use to utilise this time by peeping out of window & gaze at the posters of new cameras with its features outside a photo studios and camera shops as I pass by. As we all find Google to be our smartest companion, I kept surfing through & discovered “High Fundu” terms which I heard for the first time like Noise, exposure, interchangeable lens etc. But it was all theories & definitions, reminded me of my school’s bouncer lectures. Life changed in 2010, when best thing happened to me, my wife delivered a baby boy & I wanted to capture every possible moment of his with the best camera around in the market. So I graduated from compact digital camera to my first DSLR, Canon 1000D (remember it was my dream gadget of one time!!!) Initially, it was frustrating when I was not able to get good pictures in the low light. After knowing this limitation of entry level DSLR with lens, I convinced myself to buy Canon 50mm f/1.8 II lens. Then as my knowledge & interest started expanding, I bought other lenses like Macro lens, Telephoto zoom lens, Wide angle zoom lens and Flash guns to explore the my passion further. Now that I had these new fancy accessories I upgraded my camera to Canon 6D that gives excellent colour depth and resolution. Like we all admire someone & consider the person to be inspirational hero for his magnificent talent in that particular field, for me he is Ming Thein, a Photographer from Malaysia, specialised in commercial product photography. I have adopted few of his techniques shared by him on his website on product photography. Personally, I enjoy Portrait and Product photography with flash lights. And each day I discover something new or as basic as for instance in Portrait and Product photography, good control of light, gives great results.
