Dawn at Munnar, Kerala, India

If you want to see the beauty of any place, go out at dawn and at dusk.

I saw this view from Munnar Gap road on the way to trek chokramudi hill. You see grand vistas of tea plantations of munnar. When you visit munnar, and if you have only a day, you must take a drive on gap road at dawn. You will see beautiful light of rising sun kissing the green carpet of tea plantations. The early morning mist adds more beauty (you would see this on winter mornings).You can reach gap road through Devikulam town (I tagged the location to this post). We reached the other side of a hill and saw beautiful sunrise. I will post that soon.

Munnar -- My spiritual abode.

I went to munnar for the first time in June 2011. I was taking baby steps on photography. I had a little practical experience in landscape photography. I had textbook knowledge, but while shooting in Munnar, I realised the essence of a place. You see, it changes with time and weather. I took images with drizzle and sometimes with dramatic clouds which happens as the rain stops and the sun comes out. I realised that I must be ready for the uncertain changes of nature. This opens an infinite possibilities to take pictures of a place. Just because you visited a place and took some beautiful images, it doesn't mean you don't have a different experience at the same place again. I went to Munnar last month and it never ceased to amaze me. Although I didn't have much time to spend, I managed to make some images. Munnar is not about destination. Just take a drive on Munnar roads (at the right time) to experience Munnar.
