Vivek Through Lens Vivek Through Lens Hello! I am a photographer(?) living near Seattle, Washington. Photography is my passion rather than profession. That is when I was hooked!

One of my dad’s prized possessions was a Yashika camera. given it was film camera, use of that camera was pretty rationed. I still remember him teaching me how to frame and how to focus on that film camera. I loved taking photos with my dad’s Yashika whenever he allowed me. It took me a while to get my own camera but always liked looking at old photos. Now, I like dabbling with it in my free time and take photos of everything and anything. With camera, I stop and appreciate beauty that is all around. It teaches me to find beauty in everyday objects. I love that aspect more than the technical aspects of photography.

Wilson's snipe...Saw this bird for the first time (Thanks to fellow birder couple!)
Their signature long bill is incredibly flexible. The tip has sensitive nerve endings that detect vibrations from underground prey. They can open the very tip of their bill while keeping the rest closed, allowing them to grab earthworms, beetle larvae, and small invertebrates deep inside soft mud like tweezers.
They typically lay a clutch of four eggs. Once the eggs hatch, the parents split up the family permanently: the father takes the first two hatched chicks, the mother takes the remaining two, and the parents have no further contact while raising them

Got this Blue Heron catching couple of fish in one go...what it caught looked like an eel as it kept wiggling away. After little search, it seems they are Pacific Lamprey...an ancient, eel-like jawless fish native to the Pacific Rim, ranging from Japan and Alaska down to Southern California
