While exploring the ancient temples in Pathra β the Village of Temples, I met a small girl who started sharing the history of the temples in Bengali. It was heartwarming to see how deeply the local culture lives through its people. Loved the vibe very much! β¨
Among the many temples in Pathra, several are dedicated to Lord Shiva, including the Pancha Shiva Temple. The Pancharatna Shiva Temple is especially noteworthy β built around 1828 AD (1749 Shaka), facing east and located near the Kalachand temple complex by the river.
These temples are built in the characteristic Bengal styles such as pancha-ratna and atchala, each defined by the number of spires or roof-types. The pancha-ratna (five-pinnacle) design is particularly common among the Shiva temples here β a beautiful blend of devotion, art, and history
