Kaziranga national park is an UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE in Assam, India, famous for holding the world's largest population of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros.
It is home to a high density of Bengal tigers, significant elephant populations, and diverse birdlife.
📍 Kaziranga ranges : Kohora, Bagori, Agoratoli, Burapahar
Kohora and Bagori are best ranges for one horn rhino sightings, and Agoratoli range is best for bird watching.
📍 How to reach?
From Guwahati, you can take an AC bus to Kaziranga. The journey time is 5 hours. Buses can be booked on redbus.
📍 Where to stay?
I’d suggest staying near the central or, Kohora ranges. Aranya Tourist Lodge in Kohora range is the best option. It’s Assam government property. Room charges per night: 1600/- for AC standard room and 1800/- for AC deluxe room. Cottage charges per night: 2100/-

📍 Which safari to choose?
Both safaris have its own perks, but I personally prefer Jeep Safari, since it covers more area. Jeep Safari duration is 2.5 hours, while elephant Safari lasts 1 hour.
📍 Costs + Timing + Safari ranges:
Jeep Safari ranges: Kohora, Bagori, Burapahar, Agoratoli.
Jeep Safari timing: 7:30AM - 10:00 AM & 1:30PM - 3:00 PM
Jeep Safari cost:
Central or, Kohora (2300/- per jeep)
Western or, Bagori (2400/- per jeep)
Eastern or, Agoratoli (2800/- per Jeep)
Burapahar (3500/- per jeep)

* One jeep can take maximum 6 people. But if you're going solo, you have to book a whole jeep for yourself! It will be costly.
Elephant safari ranges: Kohora & Bagori
Elephant safari timings: 5:30AM - 6:30AM & 6:30AM - 7:30 AM
Elephant safari cost: 1500/- per person.
*Jeep Safari can be booked online as well as offline.
*Elephant safari can be booked from Kohora booking counter one day prior to your safari.
*Elephant safari lasts 1 hour, jeep Safari lasts 2.5 hours.

📍 Which Animals you will get to see during Safari?
Definitely a lots of one horned rhinos and varieties of birds, swamp deer, wild buffaloes, hog deer. Tiger sightings depend on your luck!
