Here is a direct visual on my vehicle thermal camera of how the cold air interacts with the warm air. The darker portion is the cold air, and because of higher density it pushes the warm air up (lighter potion). One of my missions this year, just got accomplished in southern Kansas!!

A crucial milestone was reached yesterday when the Artemis II crew completed their lunar flyby and witnessed sights no human eyes have ever seen before — a nearly 50‑minute solar eclipse, distinct craters along the terminator on the far side of the Moon, and even multiple meteoroids (apparently a mini meteor shower) striking the lunar surface in real time.

I am sharing a few of the incredible images that NASA has released so far (in case you have not seen these already). One of the astronauts mentioned: “Humans have not evolved to see what we are seeing. It’s hard to describe.” Looking at these snapshots from the flyby, I can only imagine the awe behind those words.

So far, the Artemis II mission has been quite amazing to follow. Here is the recently posted and very popular photo of the Earth as seen from its dark side, captured by the Artemis crew while flying away from Earth and towards the Moon.

I labeled the original photo for fun and thought of sharing with everyone. Just to put everything into perspective, geographical north is pointing towards the bottom of the page in this original photo.

If you like to track the mission, the two links below are very useful. The crew is going around the far side of the Moon as we speak and is gathering some spectacular photos and data that will be released soon. They are seeing things that human eyes never seen before!

Equinox months have always been my favorite time to observe the Northern Lights because of the Russell-McPherron effect. After a few months of quietness, it is good to see some proper activity again. This time, I was lucky to be at a friend's cabin up at Emma Lake during the display last Friday. In case you missed it, there is a chance of another display right around the equinox day this week.

Once again, I had my balcony camera up and running all night last night as the aurora remained active. However, the display was not as spectacular compared to the night before. Camera was facing in the same direction, and it took ~2800 photos throughout the night for this time-lapse video. Time stamps are at the bottom left as an FYI.

I am assuming that many of you saw the Northern Lights display last night. I did not go out myself, but my balcony camera was running from ~7:30pm to ~5:30am, until the memory card ran out of space. There were a few "red" outbursts of aurora throughout the night; some of which I saw from the balcony myself.

This time-lapse video was made out of ~2800 photos showing all that happened over Saskatoon during the Remembrance Day G4 geomagnetic storm. There is a time-stamp at the bottom left corner of the frame, in case you are curious. The camera was facing at an east-southeast direction the entire time.

This image will give you an idea of the size of comet Lemmon when it is not within the field of a zoom lens. You can see it just above the small hedge at a distance at the bottom center of the image.

As I mentioned in my comet post, it was quite difficult to locate Swan just by looking at the area of interest or even with the help of a pair of binoculars. As a result, I had to use my camera to find the comet for me.

Here is one of the photos showing the exact location of the comet. Can you find it and post the location in the comments? Otherwise, I will reply here with the answer later.
