The ethics of wildlife tourism in Jawai has been decimated. Behaviour of tourists, guides, drivers alike is pretty much out of control and in desperate need of regulation. There's been a lot of buzz about this on social media already but upon request of my friend and conservationist , I decided to make a video talking about my recent trip there.

In conversation with my travel buddy as we weigh in on what we experienced. I don't know if this video will make any difference but it's important for all of us to call out the blatant violations causing immense stress to the leopards of Jawai - an otherwise amazing landscape and easily the best place in the world to spot this beautiful animal.

Potrait of a stunning Leopardess Jeevda. It took some highly skilled driving by our driver to reach this vantage! A rare privilege to be the only vehicle in the area to observe her peacefully and in silence. She was absolutely at ease and comfortable with our presence.

India is home not just to the largest wild cat in the world (the Tiger) but also the smallest!

Don't let this chap's small size fool you - it ain't your neighborhood kitty. It is a ferocious predator as wild as they come (almost like a mini leopard), highly agile and super duper elusive. The thrilling adventure to spot this nocturnal creature cost me a broken lens mount and involved bare-foot walking on sharp steep rocks; painful but totally worth it!

The last time I saw one of these bad boys was because of the brilliance of in Panna nearly 4 years ago. This time round it was the keen eye and expertise of in the wilds of RJ.

Say hello to the very rare Rusty Spotted Cat.

On International Leopard Day, a post dedicated to my most favourite of the Big Cats! Stealthy, adaptable, agile and highly intelligent - there's no predator like the leopard.

A Tibetan wolf navigating through a snow storm!

Notice the light fading in the second half of the video as the storm takes over. A scene right out of Game of Thrones!

Have not muted the background noise to give you a sense of just how windy it was on that freezing afternoon in Ladakh! Filming at these altitudes is more about being able to bear the cold than anything else.

The Hypnotic eyes of the Secret Creature of the Night - the Slender Loris!

Meet Kaadupappa - one of the most ancient primates on Earth! Found in the tropical evergreen forests of the Western Ghats and South India, this creature has fascinated me for a long long time. Its shy nature, nocturnal arboreal behaviour and extremely stealthy movements make it very hard to spot and even harder to photograph. Goa gifted me yet another lifer (the list is getting longer and longer). This one was possible only because of the brilliance of local naturalist !

In keeping with my 2025 goal of focusing on less glamorous species/smaller mammals, I packed my bags and headed to Goa with literally no planning. After walking a few hours through extreme heat and humidity in Goa's mangrove forests with no luck, we stumbled upon a fisherman in an isolated spot. Upon enquiring if he had seen any Otters, he smiled and said "yes sir right there''.
In the distance there they were - a family of 4 hunting and feeding on fish. A lifer for me! They may appear cute and adorable but don't be fooled. If there are pups around they can get very aggressive and have been known to chase humans!
You can contact for a guided walk if you wish to do a few of these otter trails in Goa.
