Dainthlen Falls, Meghalaya 🌿

Dainthlen Falls is one of Meghalaya’s most beautiful waterfalls, but what makes it more interesting is the old local legend behind its name. Surrounded by green hills and huge rocks, the waterfall looks especially beautiful during the monsoon.

📍 Location: Sohra (Cherrapunji), Meghalaya, India

🚗 How to reach:
Dainthlen Falls is around 5–6 km from Sohra. You can easily reach the falls by taking a local taxi or your own vehicle from Sohra. From the parking area, it’s a short walk to the viewpoint.

Hidden inside the lush landscapes of Sohra (Cherrapunji), Arwah Cave is a fascinating limestone cave known for its natural rock formations, maze-like passages and fossils preserved in the limestone walls, including crustacean shells and fish bones.

The journey to the cave takes you through dense greenery, and near the entrance, flowing cave water creates a beautiful mini-waterfall-like scene after rain. 🌿💧

🌧️ Best time: Monsoon & post-monsoon for the best waterfall flow

🚗 How to reach:
Kynrem Falls is around 12–15 km from Cherrapunji (Sohra). From Sohra, you can travel by taxi or private vehicle towards Kynrem Falls. The waterfall is located along the Shillong–Sohra route, making it a convenient addition to a Meghalaya itinerary.

🌿 Travel tip: Carry proper footwear during monsoon as the surroundings can be slippery.

Chaaro taraf green mountains, multiple cascades aur crystal-clear water… monsoon mein toh ye place aur bhi magical lagta hai. 🌧️💚

🚗 How to reach: Shillong se Sohra (Cherrapunji) ki taraf drive karein, phir Mawsawdong Falls ke access point ki taraf continue karein. Final stretch mein short walk ho sakta hai, depending on current access and road conditions.
