DIG JSK RANGE REVIEWS CRIME CONTROL AND SANJY-2026 PREPAREDNESS AT DPL KATHUA
Kathua, June 11, 2026:
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Shridhar Patil, IPS, accompanied by SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, IPS, and other senior officers, chaired a review meeting at District Police Lines (DPL) Kathua to assess crime control measures, anti-narcotics operations under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan, and security arrangements for SANJY-2026.
The DIG reviewed progress made against drug trafficking, including NDPS arrests, demolition actions, issuance of lookout notices, and efforts to apprehend absconders. Officers were directed to strengthen investigations and improve conviction rates through professional and timely case disposal.
Emphasizing preventive policing, the DIG directed SHOs and Beat Officers to make the Beat System more effective and ensure greater public engagement. He also reviewed the implementation of the Motor Vehicles Act, theft cases, naka checking, and the use of technological tools such as NATGRID, CCTNS, and E-Summons.
Reviewing SANJY-2026 preparations, the DIG stressed adequate manpower deployment and robust security arrangements for a safe and smooth pilgrimage. He also directed officers to enhance CCTV surveillance, improve the functioning of Village Defence Guards (VDGs), and maintain high standards of professionalism and accountability.
The DIG reiterated the commitment of Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Police towards ensuring public safety, effective crime control, and successful conduct of SANJY-2026.
