Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a six-day visit to the UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy from May 2026, for high-level talks focused on trade, energy cooperation, and strengthening strategic global partnerships.
Key Highlights of Modi’s Tour:-
United Arab Emirates:
First stop on May 15, meeting President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Focus: energy security, bilateral trade, diaspora welfare (4.5M Indians in UAE).
UAE is India’s third‑largest trading partner and major supplier of crude oil, LNG, and LPG.
Netherlands (May 15–17): Talks with King Willem‑Alexander, Queen Máxima, and PM Rob Jetten.
Cooperation in green hydrogen, semiconductors, water management, defence, and innovation.
Netherlands is India’s fourth‑largest investor with FDI of USD 55.6B.
Sweden (May 17–18): Bilateral talks with PM Ulf Kristersson.
Focus on green transition, AI, start‑ups, defence, and resilient supply chains.
Trade reached USD 7.75B in 2025.
Norway (May 19) : Attending the 3rd India‑Nordic Summit in Oslo.
Discussions on renewable energy, maritime security, and Arctic cooperation.
Italy (May 20): Talks with Italian leadership on energy, defence, and technology partnerships. Italy seen as a gateway for India’s deeper EU engagement.
