Today, students of Government Polytechnic College Ganderbal embarked on an inspiring educational visit to the iconic Zojila Tunnel — one of India’s most ambitious engineering marvels connecting dreams through the mighty Himalayas. 🏔️🚇✨
The visit gave future engineers a chance to witness world-class infrastructure, modern tunneling technology, and the spirit of innovation shaping the nation’s progress. From classrooms to the mountains, students experienced firsthand how determination and engineering excellence can transform impossible terrains into pathways of connectivity and growth. 🇮🇳

Shri Narendra Sharma ,Director (Technical) - III, NHIDCL, Sh. Rajendra Prasad, Executive Director, NHIDCL visited the Zojila Tunnel West Portal,Baltal, Sonamarg, Kashmir and Zojila Tunnel East portal ,Minamarg Drass, Ladakh Today (07-05-2026) to review the progress of work. He was welcomed and briefed at the project site by Sheikh Javaid Maqbool, GM NHIDCL, Sh. Harpal Singh JCOO ,Meil ,Team Leader Mohd Yousuf Es’hagpour, and Col A.K. Shivkumar, Project Manager, along with Meil Engineers.
Subsequently, visited tunnel and interacted with engineers and workers inside the tunnel.

Shri Sudip Choudhury, ADG, MoRTH, and key members visited the Zojila Tunnel Project, West Portal, Baltal today (25-04-2025) to review the progress of work. He was received and welcomed at the project site by Shri Col A.K. Shivkumar, Project Manager, along with the Meil Zojila Team. The ADG, MoRTH, was accompanied by BRO officials. Shri Sudip Choudhury was briefed about the project.

A detailed presentation and briefing on progress made, challenges faced, and actions taken to overcome the challenges were given by Col A.K. Shivkumar, Project Manager, Meil.

Subsequently, the ADG, MoRTH, visited the tunnel and interacted with engineers and workers inside the tunnel.
