Faced my fear of water for a day at the with one-day trial of white water rafting course… and honestly, it was worth every second 🌊

From learning river techniques to understanding the madness of rapids, the experience hit differently knowing that with his team, made a record of 1000Kms rafting during Brahmaputra expedition.

NIMAS Dirang isn’t just about rafting though, from mountaineering, paragliding, skiing, scuba diving, mountain biking to survival courses… this place literally trains you for adventure in every terrain 🇮🇳

A few minutes away from the India–Tibet frontier, hidden in the mountains near Yangtse, lies Chumi Gyatse, awaterfall locals associate with Guru Padmasambhava and centuries-old Monpa Buddhist traditions. 🇮🇳

What makes this place even more fascinating is that across the border, it’s presented through an entirely different identity and narrative.

This route around Bum La and Yangtse was once inaccessible to civilians for years because of its strategic sensitivity.

Today, reaching it feels less like a regular road trip and more like stepping into a space where spirituality, history, military tensions, and geopolitics quietly coexist.

Places like these remind you that borders are not just lines on maps, they shape culture, memory, and perspective too.

If Tawang is on your list, go beyond the usual tourist circuit.

From the 14th century Chakzam Bridge to the world’s second largest monastery, this journey took me through layers of history, faith, borders, and identity.

Tawang Monastery shared deep religious ties with Tibet for centuries, and the 14th Dalai Lama passed through here after escaping Tibet in 1959.
Yet today, Tawang remains an integral part of India 🇮🇳 and Arunachal Pradesh.
