"It's my first-ever death." - Fabien Frankel on Criston Cole's death 😭💀
Yes, Fabien Frankel just said he is PROUD to be dead. And we get it.
After 3 seasons of being the most HATED man in Westeros, Criston Cole died in House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 6 in the most UNGLORIOUS way possible:
No epic duel. No last sword swing. No heroic speech.
Just 3 arrows from Alysanne "Black Aly" Blackwood while he was begging for a "proper soldier's death" at the Butcher's Ball.
In Fire & Blood, his killer even tells his co**se: "I'll have no songs about how brave you died, Kingmaker."
And Fabien said he WANTED it this way:
"I'm relieved, to a degree. Criston Cole's gone out in the way I wanted him to, and in a way that feels very in honor of what George R.R. Martin wrote."
He also said: "I feel proud to be dead in a way. It's my first-ever death."
Fabien admitted he read every article saying "This guy has to go" and said "I'm excited to give the fans what they want. But I also don't want them to feel satisfied... It happens so suddenly. I thought it was fitting."
Translation: He knew we hated Criston and he denied us even the satisfaction of a satisfying death. That's so Criston Cole of him.
RIP Kingmaker. You lived as a bitter boy, you died as a bitter man, with no songs sung.
