When people look at someone waking up at 5:00 AM to lace up their running shoes, they often ask the same question: "Why do you do it?" To an outsider, running looks like punishment. It’s heavy breathing, burning lungs, sore muscles, and sweat. But to anyone who has ever stuck with it past the first difficult two weeks, running becomes something entirely different. It ceases to be just a workout. It becomes a mirror.
