To everyone saying that supporting Vijay as CM is a “stupid decision” or that people voting for him are blindly following a hero — that argument is shallow.
Yes, many of us grew up watching Vijay as a cinema star. He was part of our childhood, our entertainment, even our inspiration at times. But reducing people’s political choices to “fan behavior” is just an easy way to dismiss a deeper frustration.
We are educated people — but somewhere along the way, we became politically undereducated. For years, we’ve seen the same cycle: corruption, nepotism, power being passed like family property, and promises that disappear after elections.
And yes — the parties that have already been in power have done some good for the people. No one is denying that. But in almost every “good,” their pockets were also filled. And what about the promises that were never fulfilled? The gap between what was said and what was done is exactly why people are looking elsewhere.
Vijay, in this moment, is not just seen as a “hero.” He represents something else — hope.
Hope that:
• Corruption can actually be challenged, not just spoken about
• Nepotism in politics can be questioned
• Power doesn’t stay locked within the same circles
• A new kind of leadership can emerge
This doesn’t mean people believe he is already a perfect leader. It means they are willing to take a chance on something different.
Because let’s be honest:
The same leaders have had decades.
The same system has repeated itself.
And trust has already been broken.
So when people support someone new, it doesn’t make them foolish — it shows they are tired of settling.
But support should never mean blind loyalty.
If Vijay steps into politics, he should be questioned, challenged, and held accountable like anyone else.
Because democracy is not about replacing one form of hero worship with another.
It’s about responsibility — from leaders and from us.
This isn’t just about Vijay.
It’s about what people are done tolerating… and what they’re willing to hope for.
