Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team at Sri Balaji Albums in Chennai. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 - 5 years of experience working in an auditor firm and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger accounts, financial statements, and other financial reports.
2. Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
3. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
4. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
5. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
6. Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and provide support for decision-making processes.
7. Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
8. Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings.
9. Monitor and analyze financial transactions to identify discrepancies or irregularities.
10. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, as needed.
11. Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.
12. Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and support to auditors.
13. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience working in an auditor firm.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
4. Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
7. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is preferred but not mandatory.
10. Knowledge of Indian accounting standards and tax regulations is a plus
