Today we share a video on Rani Gaidinliu, the courageous woman warrior from Manipur. This video highlights her inspirational life story.
Gaidinliu belonged to the Zeliangrong tribe. In 1927, aged 13, she joined a revolt against British rule, gaining support from various tribes. She was arrested in 1932 after a long pursuit. Jawaharlal Nehru admired her bravery, calling her "Daughter of the Hills". She was released in 1947 after India's independence. Gaidinliu's struggle against colonial rule at such a young age made her an iconic Indian woman freedom fighter.
