Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandal, 1st Gate, Tilakwadi, Belgaum "TILAKWADICHA RAJA"Was founded in by Late.Shri.Chanda Pai in the year 1940 along with the Gajananrao Yalgi, Vishnupant Shinde & Vasantrao Yalgi. Shri.

"TILAKWADICHA RAJA (The Emperor of Tilakwadi)" is name of the popular Ganesh Idol. The Mandal, known as “SARVAJANIK GANESHOTSAV MANDAL, Ganesh Chowk, 1st gate" was founded in the year 1940 by Late. Chanda Pai along with Vasantrao Yalgi, Vishnupant Shinde, Gajananrao Yalgi and other local residents. The Mandal was formed in the era when the freedom struggle was at its peak. d the idea of "Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav" for the awakening of people through this medium towards freedom struggle against the British Rule. Following the same, social issues were taken up along with religious duties, through this medium by the Mandal. After independence, the agenda of the Mandal was modified and accordingly the Mandal decided to contribute in uplift of the Country. So mandal looks after the social activities and issues in the society. Mandal also organizes various Cultural & entertainment programmes during the festival. During last few years Mandal started some new traditions like "Shri Satyanarayan Pooja", felicitation of donors, eminent personalities of different fields are also inivited. This creates a friendly atmosphere for co-ordination & exchange of views for better performance of the festival and helps in improving relation among various people.
