🌸🎠 There's a spot right outside their door — nothing fancy, just a patch of stone and flowers — but this morning the Jerusalem sun found it like it had been waiting for her.

It always feels like such an honor to be invited to share the tender moment when a family welcomes a new member into their home. As soon as I walked into the house I was greeted by the newly appointed big sister, the chief of organized chaos. She showed me around and introduced me to her little sister.

From then on it was all about following the baby's pace and capturing the moments in between.

I met with this lovely family to celebrate the end of the summer. Every shell had to be picked up. Every wave had to be run at, and then run away from. We even looked for crabs!
Nobody told them to stop. They just got to be curious until the light ran out.

Photo sessions are about being present and having a good time, not about posing and telling kids what to do for an entire hour. At the end, the moments worth remebering are the unscripted ones. ⛱️🦀

There's a reason Yemin Moshe keeps pulling families back for sessions.

We had perfect light, flowers everywhere, fruit trees, and ended the golden hour with the Old City walls glowing behind us. Yemin Moshe is one of the most beautiful spots I shoot in — and this family still managed to outshine it.

They were easy, warm, just ready to have a good time. And the baby? An absolute trooper, smiling through the whole thing like it was nothing.

For anyone who doesn’t know what Miryam is wearing, this is a traditional Moroccan Henna (Berberisca) dress. Wow! This one is especially special to me, since not only my wife, but also my mom, my grandma, and her mom all wore this kind of dress days before their wedding. I grew up with pictures of those events hanging on my walls. It was both an honor and a pleasure to be invited to capture the moments before the party, while all her loved ones helped her get ready — dress, makeup, and hair. It felt like nothing short of a fairy tale.

Para quien no sepa qué lleva puesta Miryam, esto es un vestido tradicional marroquí de Berberisca (Henna). ¡Wau! Este evento fue muy especial para mí, ya que no solo mi mujer, sino también mi madre, mi abuela y mi bisabuela llevaron este tipo de vestido días antes de su boda. Crecí con fotos de esos eventos colgadas en las paredes de mi casa. Fue todo un honor y un placer que me invitaran a capturar los momentos previos a la fiesta, mientras todos sus seres queridos la ayudaban a arreglarse: vestido, maquillaje y peinado. Fue como sacado de un cuento de hadas.

"I don't want everybody smiling at the camera, I'd rather do something fun!" A bonfire, marshmallows, and huge chocolate balls were the perfect recipe for such an afternoon.

These sessions have a very special energy — they bring out the free-spirited version of kids, just by letting them be curious and follow their instincts. That allows parents to lay back and enjoy the show. It was so much fun to share this afternoon with the R. family.

There's something beautiful about following a family from one milestone to the next — I photographed them waiting to meet their daughter, and a few weeks later, holding her.

The photos become keepsakes they'll carry for the rest of their lives. It feels like an honor I don't take lightly.

Being trusted with that once is a gift. Being trusted twice is another honor entirely. Thank you Miry & David!

They hadn't been back in years.

No occasion. No milestone. Just a family who wanted to stand in the Old City together and remember what it feels like to be here, as they are, right now.

The kids didn't need convincing. They just needed someone to keep up with them.
