Counting down the days!

This day next week I will be representing the place I love, West Cork!

Next Thursday I will be going to the all Ireland finals of the Student Enterprise Programme, representing Mount Saint Michael Secondary School and Local Enterprise Office Cork North and West with my enterprise, West Cork Skies, Moments in Time.

Since last October I have worked on my small business to build it from mounted prints of the places I love in West Cork to incorporate “Shop Stories” and “Farm Stories”, telling the unique and personal stories of the lands we love and our local, important indigenous businesses so their stories can be captured and valued for locals, tourists and families. Next week I will bring my ideas and business to the judges.

Regardless of anything, I am looking forward to building my business and ensuring that West Cork is loved and appreciated by all for generations to come!

Thanks to everyone who has supported me for the last few months, whether you have bought a print or booked in your farm or shop story or offered words of encouragement and advice, I appreciate it all!

I was delighted to work with John O'Driscoll Motor Factors for my new project Shop Stories…

This video has reached over 11,000 views, which shows just how much people want to connect with local businesses and the stories behind them.

Shop Stories is all about helping independent businesses tell their story in their own words - their history, their people, and what they stand for. Because at the end of the day, people buy from people, and now more than ever it’s important to support local.

Each business will have a short video like this, along with a QR code displayed in their window, so locals and tourists alike can scan and instantly discover what makes that business special.

With the busy West Cork season beginning, it’s a great time for businesses to showcase their story and connect with customers in a new way.

The big news! I have launched a new service called Shop Stories to tell the unique and special stories of local businesses. Independent, family owned businesses are one of the things that makes our towns and villages so special. They should be celebrated, supported and highlighted because without them our lives wouldn’t be the same. I loved working on this with John O'Driscoll Motor Factors a place I have been into many times but wasn’t aware of its story and why it is so important to Skibbereen and beyond. Thanks so much John for being my first client, the first of many I hope! If you would like your story told then I’d love to help you tell it.

Today was a good day! I’m so excited to say that I’ll be representing Mount Saint Michael Secondary School and West Cork at the National finals of the Student Enterprise Programme in May. Thanks so much to Ms Carolan for all her support and Bríd for all her help today and well done to my fellow Ross students on their well deserved awards and commendations as well today 💪💥✨
