The richness, diversity and dedication of some of Ireland’s best food and drink producers were on display at the Regional & Drink Producer Showcase in Emerald Park today.
Nearly sixty companies from Meath, Louth, Kildare, Wicklow, Cavan and Monaghan brought their produce for buyers and fellow producers/entrepreneurs to sample. There was important networking and lots of shared information. I believe quite a few follow up meetings are scheduled between producers and buyers.
We had the opportunity to interview some of wonderful Meath based producers and we were even gifted locally grown vegetables. One of us was spotted leaving with a selection of cakes 🍰 🎂!

What a wonderful time we had this weekend working on a video about the Boyne Valley to Lakelands greenway.
We had an early start as we made our way to the different villages and community based amenities to be found along the route.
It is already incredibly popular with cyclists, walkers and everyone lucky enough to have the time and opportunity to enjoy it.
We were delighted to work alongside and .
The is a fantastic resource in county Meath. There are amenities and facilities along the way including and where we fuelled up on toasties and coffee (more than once! )
Nobber’s and were also busy with cyclists, walkers and locals.
If you haven’t used the greenway, give it a go! You won’t regret it!

Exciting times as we begin working with renowned Meath company Respa beds.

Their story is one of resilience, entrepreneurship and proudly valuing the community they have been part of for some eighty years.

We are thrilled to provide photography and videography as we work alongside company CEO Pamela Stone and Head of Marketing Darren Rennicks!

If you want somewhere to go which is part of our heritage and enjoyable by people of all ages, then head to your local . Ours is the Boyne Valley to Lakeland’s and it is safe, free and fab.
If it looks like we walked the entire route- should we correct you?! (Not this time but maybe on the next visit! )
We met so many nice people, all out in nature and having a good time. Always great to see local businesses and cafes buzzing. They are at the heart of so many communities.

What a great event to be involved in. Willow Domestic Abuse Services and it’s strategy were launched today. Elaine facilitated a panel discussion with women who have led or are leading in the development and delivery of supports for women and children. She also spoke with Roisin O’Donnell whose book Nesting is a beautiful telling of the courage and strength of one particular woman.
Courage and hope were threaded through the event and we all left with the words of Mary McDermott echoing in us- that there is no love without justice (or words to that effect.)
The voices of the survivors and the amazing music from Trim Women’s Shed Choir made it extra special.
There are incredible women leading the response to domestic, sexual and gender based violence in Meath.

International Women’s Day is one of the best days of the year.

Solstice Media Ltd had a full team at the inspiring Meath Women in Biz and Tech Network event to mark IWD and we returned to the beautiful in Kilmessan for our ‘Give to Gain’ themed gathering.

Our had the pleasure of chatting on stage to CEO of the Camogie Association as well as to of Labstock MicroServices. Derville will soon be the first female President of the All Ireland Polo Club.

It was delightful to close the day in the company of Thelma Slattery who founded The Station House Hotel over forty years ago. She was joined by her daughter Suzanne and there was laughter and applause as they talked with Elaine.

We were reminded by Frances Haworth from
that domestic, sexual and gender based violence remain a serious problem in our community.

Solstice’s captured fantastic photographs while was looking after the drone and videography.

We love working with and who collaborate to bring the network to the female entrepreneurs and business leaders in Meath.

The WIBT network meets four times a year and is sponsored by . We are already looking forward to seeing everyone again in June.

Thanks to for another great Meath Business Owners Network (MBON) site visit this month. We spent the morning at the state of the art Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (AMTCE) facility in Dundalk. Thanks also to Aoife McDaid, Training Manager (AMTCE) for showing us around.

If you want to find out how democracy works in local government and a reminder that your local councillor knows every single vote matters, then have a listen. For episode one I was joined by the current Cathaoirleach Wayne Harding, by Kells MD councillor Sarah Reilly and we got a really interesting overview, and insights, from Virgin Media's Gavan Reilly.
Hope you enjoy it.
