Whoop! Weddings are coming back! They'll be a bit smaller, and there may be more masks but at the end of the day it's about two people getting married. It always has been, it always will be.

Here it is. Us. Staying home and staying safe in Castlemartyr during a global pandemic. It was a pleasure to meet you all on Sunday. Thank you all so much too for the donations to the Barnardos Ireland JustGiving page (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andrew-byrne-barnardos).

I'll be in touch with all of you over the next few days with your own copy of your doorstep photo.

Last call for anyone who wants to sign up for a doorstep portrait this Sunday. There's room for 3-4 more houses. The forecast for Sunday is looking decent too which is great (dry at least).

So if you've been on the fence or just forgot to get in touch, now's the chance to add your name to this little slice of history.

If you see me walking around in Sunday with my high-viz vest from Barnardos Ireland, feel free to stop me for a quick snap ☺️📸

Thanks Castlemartyr Community-Council for the support advertising this.

Hi all, thanks so much for all the positive feedback and interest so far! Really looking forward to getting out and meeting you all on Sunday. To anyone still interested in signing up, I have room for about 8-10 more houses that I can fit in on the day. Just get in touch with me (email or Facebook) and I'll add you to the route. To recap the main points...
• This is a FREE doorstep portrait project that I'm running on Sunday 3rd May to mark this moment in history we are living through.
• I will be observing safe social distancing, standing well back as I take the photos.
• I plan on having my route mapped out by Friday evening. I'm estimating 10 minutes per household and I'll be letting everyone know a 1 hour window in which I expect be at their home on Sunday.
• I have fundraiser page for Barnardos if anyone would like to donate towards that (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andrew-byrne-barnardos)

Other than that, keep spreading the word, stay safe, and see you on Sunday!

To everyone in Castlemartyr, I'm a photographer based in the village and I'm working on a documentary photo project to capture life in the area during this moment in history.

On the Sunday of the May Bank Holiday weekend, I'll be taking photos of Castlemartyr locals at their doorstep (practicing social distancing of course) and I invite you to be part of this local history in the making. So, in a time when we have nowhere to go, gather the troops, dress up, and get a portrait of you/your partner/your family/your fur babies at your door.

It'll take no more than 10 minutes, and it's free! If anyone would like to contribute something, I'm raising money for Barnardo's through this page… https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andrew-byrne-barnardos

To sign up for a portrait at your door, just contact me ([email protected], or through Facebook) to sign up. I will try to get to as many requests as I can.

I also plan on putting together a short video slideshow of all the photos to share in our community. If you want to opt out of that, please indicate this when you send the request.

Thank you,

Andrew

Wow, 2019 is coming to a close fast! This will most likely be my last wedding blog for the year, and I couldn’t ask for a better way to cap it off than Tara and Padraig in Athlone. We’ve got castles (well one), epic churches (again, just the one), Ireland’s oldest pub, and the fantastic settin...
