After a day’s work in the IT world, you’ll usually find me out and about with a camera in hand or a drone in the sky. The ancient stones of the Cavan Burren and the Cuilcagh Lakeland Geopark are on my doorstep. The rugged uplands, lakes and forests represent a complex history. These are my main inspirations. But I’m not limiting myself to just o

ne spot. My lens is always thirsty for new views, new vibes, and new stories. In my growing online gallery, discover images that weave the magical tales of this area – the tucked-away spots, the open landscapes, and the everyday enchantment. I will have a small display of photos with relevant heritage and cultural information in The Market House Craft Shop & Tourist Information Blacklion tomorrow Friday 19th September 2025 for Blacklion Culture Evening. It is part of National Heritage Week. I have included some new additions to the collection from Cavan Burren Park.

Drop into the market House between 4pm and 6pm

An evening exploring culture from Blacklion and the surrounding area, featuring traditional Bakes, Crochet, Felted Sheep. Photographs on display local places of heritage. Old tools on display that were used in bygone times. Paintings by the Ukranian Community, Music by Aidy Leonard.

There is also a walk by the River Walk guided by ecologist Andrea Parisi and artist Sinead Curran. Meet at Market House 5.55pm please.

We are delighted with all the interest, and appreciate all the support in the event, which will raise some funds for our future Tidy Towns projects, to help keep the village looking lovely 🤩

We have 22 tables booked and we’ll have a little bit of everything on the day - baked goods, prints, jewellery, handmade crafts, bracelets, ceramics and crocheted pieces, to name a few.
We also have tables of secondhand books, puzzles, clothes and miscellaneous goods, for all our thrifting fans 🤩

Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark will have an interactive stall and a heritage trail around the Cathal Bui (Village) walk. 🌱

We are also having a raffle on the day, with all proceeds of the raffle going to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
